Our Vision
By the year 2010, the Youngstown City Schools will become a true educational community of learners, who understand the global challenges of life and are prepared to successfully meet them. Schools will be bright and inviting, filled with children and adults both day and night. These learners will be all ages, engaged in activities together, acquiring and sharing knowledge and experience, working in rooms filled with laughter and “constructive noise”. State of the art technology, books, supplies and other educational materials will be available to enhance and enrich all aspects of learning. Members of the learning community will feel a sense of pride and unity, and a sense of connectedness to the school and to each other. Conflicts will be resolved peacefully because of a shared vision and mutual respect for diversity. Learners will achieve their highest potential because that will be the expectation of all who surround and support them. EVERYONE will be excited about learning that is relevant and meaningful.
