VPA Music K-12

VPA music classes are provided for students in grades K-12. High school courses are elective, with a 1 credit requirement for graduation.

Students in Grades K-4 receive general music classes. Students in grades 5-8 are able to choose between VPA vocal music (choir), band and orchestra beginning in 5th grade in all K-8 Buildings. 

VPA K-8 Winter and Spring Performance  
are held at all of the K-8 Buildings throughout the District. A visual art exhibit is also featured at VPA K-8 Winter and Spring performances and showcases. 

VPA Winter, VPA Black History Month and VPA Spring Performances
These VPA collaborative performances between all visual and performing arts departments of drama, dance, vocal and instrumental music are held at East High School and Chaney High School.

Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Competitions
Teachers are encouraged to enter their instrumental or vocal ensembles and soloists in Ohio Music Education Association Competitions, giving students an opportunity to compete and receive evaluations and suggestions from judges.
