Internal Language Services Provided by Parent Pathways

Our goal is to take reasonable steps to make certain that our District is providing equal access to all of the resources we provide through communication to families with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).  With the increasing demand of interpreting and translation needs of our District’s LEP families, Parent Pathways department has been called upon to assist with helping bridge communication and language barriers.  Aside from the Bilingual Parent Pathways Staff’s duties, they will serve the District on an as needed basis to translate and/or interpret for our District staff to better serve our families. Therefore, being that our PEC’s time is limited to providing these services on-demand, we created this guide to equitably distribute and handle work load management.

 

Services We Provide

Language services provided by the bilingual Parent Pathways staff to our YCSD staff are the following:

  • Interpreting Services

    Oral communication by an interpreter to voice a message from the language of the original speaker or writer, into the language of the listener.  To translate orally, ­­the words of a person speaking a different language into the language of the listener

  • Translation Services

    The process of translating written words or text from one language to another.

  • Languages we provide: 

         Spanish to English  (Vice versa)
